In January 1903, Locomobile began marketing its gasoline cars for the first time. Both the gasolene and steam cars are featured in these identical advertisements, Harper's Magazine on the left and Scribner's Magazine on the right. While both steam and gasolene are described, it is the gasolene car that is pictured.

These two Locomobile advertisements appeared in early 1903 marketing the new gasolene line of cars. On the left is an example from Cosmopolitan magazine and on the right is the same advertisement as it appeared in The Review of Reviews.

The advertisement on the right appeared in March 1903 in Scribner's Magazine. The advertisement on the left is from an unknown source.

The May 1903 issue of Harper's Magazine carried this advertisement for Locomobile's steam cars. The text indicates that the company has continued to improve the car.

Floyd Clymer reproduced a 1903 Locomobile Company of America brochure in two versions. Click on each image to see the entire brochure. This is likely the second version as it moves the opening paragraph of the brochure to a smaller location at the top of the first page to make room for a large advertisement for 13 steam car reproduction pamphlets.

Locomobile advertisement, Harper's Magazine, January 1903, no page number.  This was to be the face of the new Locomobile advertisements.  Focusing on the gasoline cars, the company continued to market its steam cars, but to a much lesser degree. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in The Strand Magazine in 1903, month unknown, p. unknown. Immediately below it was an advertisement for H. H. Babcock & Co. Carriages. Babcock later built automobile bodies, including the body for the Stanley Model SV 252 sedan. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in Scribner's Magazine in 1903, month unknown, p. 109. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in Scribner's Magazine in January 1903, p. 73. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in Cosmopolitan Magazine in 1903. Month unknown, p. unknown. It advertises the new gasoline car, but does mention the Loco Surrey. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in the Review of Reviews, in 1903, month unknown, p. 43. It is the same advertisement that appeared in Cosmopolitan. This Locomobile advertisement appeared in Harpers Magazine in April 1903, page unknown. This advertisement appeared in Harper's Magazine, May, 1903, page 9. These two advertisements appeared on different pages in McClure's Magazine in June 1903.  Pages unknown. One ad promotes the new gasoline car and the other flogs the older steam car, bragging that Locomobile has sold over 5,000 steam cars.  That is almost half as many as White made in ten years.
